Yes i have a very good suggestion. Unless u plan on takin ur computer everywhere with u. DONT GET A LAPTOP u substitute proformance for portablity. If u just plan on keepin it at home I strongly urge u to just Stick with A DeskTop

Are you going to be playing SC on it?
it didnt say how long the battery life is, but im quessing its average. 512mb ram is decent enough to run Starcraft and normal functions. if your thinking of playing some of the newer games, your gonna need 1gig. 80gig drive is plenty for a laptop. and its got wireless built in. just one question before i might advise you on something else, what are you gonna use it for?

Not really.. AMD chips have less cache then Intel, i think you should go intel[ if SC is the only game your playing].

look for one that has 512ram (pc3200 would be good ) Intel Pentium M processor , and a decent graphics card. most of the lappys ive seen have the ati x300 256mb card, which is enough to play SC[ more than enough really -_-] 1mb L2 Cache or 512[if you cant find one with 1mb] 40gig or more HD[ if you DL music etc, 40gig will not be enough, youll fill it up fast most likely] dvd burner is nice and especially Dual layer on the gateway you first linked to.
AMD processors are generally faster than Intel's, but intel has been in the market with their mobility chips longer. ive never owned an AMD laptop, so i dont know how they preform, but im sure they would be just as good , if not better.

Dayum. How'd I miss this thread? Wuts ur budget Asian? I'm not as familiar with laptop tech as desktop (who is?) but from what I've gathered the Intel Pentium M seems to be dominating the mobile scene. They have a higher performance per watt factor, greater heat dissipation, longer battery life and double the instruction cache than the AMD Turion, so if you're looking for an off the shelf lappy your best bet would be to stick w/ the Pentium M.
When I assisted my roommate decide on a laptop last year Acer was the only brand that really caught my eye. Its specs are well balanced for a reasonable price and they have good customer support.
