Try to get to your modem config page where it states the signal levels. Some cable modems have the ability to extract signal/power level data, to obtain this information, In your browser, go to:
http://192.168.100.1
Acceptable Signal/Power Levels Receive/Downstream: -10 to +10 dBmV Transmit/Upstream: 30dbmV to 52dbmV Signal to Noise Ratio(SNR): 32dB or Greater
Rated levels Receive/Downstream: -15 to +15 dBmV Transmit/Upstream: 30dbmV to 56dbmV Signal to Noise Ratio(SNR): 32dB or Greater

Also, are you sure that it is every 2hours? Is this only during certain time frames, like between 4pm-10pm , etc? Also, everytime it drops, make note if something has been turned on or off in the house, and what is happening at that time.
The next time your sc drops, post the signal levels again. Please follow and do my last post

Once youve done all that , go to http://192.168.100.1/logs.html and check the times when sc has dropped and post a screenshot of the page. www.imageshack.us to upload the screenshot

go to the screen that u want the screenshot of, hold ALT and press the "PrtScn" (above home, end and insert keys) Then open Paint, go to Edit, then paste. Save it to your desktop or somewhere u will remember. Once thats done, go to www.imageshack.us/ and upload the file.
