Am I the only one who puts holes in his keyboard during 1v1's?
I played a 1v1 against a complete noob who had 4000wins & 3000 losses, but for some reason I was too shakey to even go on the offense. I went as far as taking a one minute pause for some deep breaths.
A couple years ago I used to keep a tub of warm water under my desk to "calm my nerve endings." I think I can sometimes attribute my giddiness to cold hands, and I've been told that most of our body heat escapes through our feet & scalp. So warm nerve endings would allow warm blood to circulate to my hands.
Can anyone suggest some meditative techniques or something? Or am I alone in my pursuit of clear-headed gaming?

Simple relaxation tools, such as deep breathing and relaxing imagery, can help calm down angry feelings. Some simple steps you can try:
Breathe deeply, from your diaphragm; breathing from your chest won't relax you. Picture your breath coming up from your "gut."
Slowly repeat a calm word or phrase such as "relax," "take it easy." Repeat it to yourself while breathing deeply.
Use imagery; visualize a relaxing experience, from either your memory or your imagination.
Nonstrenuous, slow yoga-like exercises can relax your muscles and make you feel much calmer. Practice these techniques daily. Learn to use them automatically when you're in a tense situation. "Silly humor" can help defuse rage in a number of ways. For one thing, it can help you get a more balanced perspective. When you get angry and call someone a name or refer to them in some imaginative phrase, stop and picture what that word would literally look like. If you're at work and you think of a coworker as a "dirtbag" or a "single-cell life form," for example, picture a large bag full of dirt (or an amoeba) sitting at your colleague's desk, talking on the phone, going to meetings(LOL). Do this whenever a name comes into your head about another person. If you can, draw a picture of what the actual thing might look like. This will take a lot of the edge off your fury; and humor can always be relied on to help unknot a tense situation.
im being serious, because you are being serious, some others may think otherwise ``.

AHHHHHh, omg! those pink dots owned me. They disappeared too! And it wasn't until after i read the message that they disappeared. And wierder yet, they vanished in the order that the dot progressed. Thanks mikey. For today, I took a shower and then watched Neo fuck some shit up in Matrix Reloaded to calm myself down.

For some reason I'm more inclined to freak out when victorious opponents try to make me feel better after a brutal loss, rather then some child patronize me by BM'ing.

I feel the exact same way steve. I'd rather someone call me a newb then try to explain to me why i lost. Shit is frustrating.

hrmmz 1v1 imo, just play to have fun and most of the time youll win, if you try to go for "winning" mindset, and ur a shaky player then ull prolly lose, justgo w/ the basics and ull own thats how i play 1v1 fpm .

That might be the case in a perfect world, Ahmad, but in reality I, or others like me, might lack the hand-eye coordination to even calmly pull off the complicated recalls or timed drops necessary to win some games. It could just be a shortcoming since birth that one would have to deal with. :/
